For all who ask…

Then Mary spoke to Catherine: “Have a medal struck upon this model. Those who wear it will receive great graces, especially if they wear it around the neck.” “Now it must be given to the whole world and to every person.”

The Virgin Mary also told Dominic to “Pray my Psalter and teach it to your people. That prayer will never fail”.

No matter which apparition of the Holy Mother you favor, it is plain to see that she is reaching out and giving very specific instructions. Very simply, talk to Our Virgin Mother. Trust in her, confide in her, rejoice with her and when sorrowful, ask for her graces as she has promised to grant.

The bible says:

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
Matthew 7:7

Help for every problem you could encounter is there for the asking. These Holy visits seem to be reminders that we are not alone and to ask for help when needed, to open the lines of communication and become closer to our Lord and Holy Mother.

Tuesdays and Fridays – The Sorrowful Mysteries

When praying the Rosary, you would meditate on the Sorrowful Mysteries on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The 5 Sorrowful Mysteries are:

The agony of Jesus in the garden - In the garden of Gethsemani, Jesus prayed to his father to be forgiven for his sins. The focus of your meditation for this decade is asking the Lord’s forgiveness.

Jesus is Scourged at the Pillar – the mortification of the flesh of Jesus Christ. Blood spilt for the sins of man.

Jesus is Crowned with Thorns - When soldiers mocked Jesus as the “king of Jews” and put upon his head a crown of thorns. This meditation should be to ask the gift of patience to accept life’s perils and humiliations. To understand how Jesus suffered for our sins.

The Carrying of the Cross - Pray for help in carrying your burden as Jesus carried his cross.

The Crucifixion and Death - Jesus spoke to his mother from the cross. Ruminate on The Virgin and trust in her as Jesus did.

MaryShop.com has rosaries of every style to bring the mysteries alive through prayer.

The Joyful Mysteries

When saying your Rosary, it is the 4 types of Mysteries that you are celebrating and meditating upon. The 5 Joyful Mysteries (on Monday and Saturday), the 5 Sorrowful Mysteries (on Tuesdays and Fridays), the 5 Glorious Mysteries (on Wednesdays and Sundays) and the 5 Luminous Mysteries (on Thursdays).

The 5 Joyful Mysteries are:

The Annunciation-

When Gabriel appeared to Mary and announced:”Hail Mary, full of Grace. The lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.” Announcing that God had chosen her to bear the savior.

The Visitation:

It is said that when Mary visited her pregnant cousin Elizabeth that Elizabeth’s unborn child (John the Baptist) leapt in her womb as Mary (pregnant with Jesus) came near.

The Nativity:

We all know this story. Jesus, born in a manger in Bethlehem and wrapped in swaddling clothing.

The Presentation of the Lord:

Joseph and Mary bring Jesus to the temple to present him to God. A dove was sacrificed at his offering (as was commen at that time when the family couldn’t afford a lamb)

The Finding in the Temple:

When Jesus was 12 yrs old, his parents took him to the Passover Feast at the Temple. There he stayed with the elders asking questions. Joseph and Mary finally found Jesus still in the temple after 3 days.
