Recounts the life of Saint Anthony of Padua who, once a wealthy noblemen, devoted his life to defending the poor and oppressed against injustice.
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops calls this movie "visually impressive" and gives the following synopsis: "Director and co-writer Antonello Belluco’s portrait focuses on the saint’s role as champion of Padua’s poor and vociferous critic of the city’s ruling oligarchy whose wealth was based on usury."
Not rated by the Motion Picture Association of America, but does contain some violence. In Italian with English subtitles. |
